North Carolina Information On Safety Net Dental Clinics For Low Income

What are Safety Net Dental Clinics?

Safety Net Dental Clinics are non-profit dental facilities where low income families or individuals can go for dental care.
Most clinics accept insurance, N.C. Medicaid and N.C. Health Choice for Children. Many of these clinics also provide services on a sliding-fee scale to low-income patients who have no dental insurance.
There are Safety Net Dental Clinics in most of North Carolina’s 100 counties.

Who is Eligible?

Eligibility varies from clinic to clinic.  Patients will need to provide proof of income.  Contact the clinic for details.

How to Apply

The application process varies from clinic to clinic. Contact the clinic for details.

Contacts

There are Safety Net Dental Clinics in most of North Carolina's 100 counties. Find your closest Safety Net Dental Clinic.

Access to Dental Care in Private Dental Practices

Most dental care in North Carolina is provided in private dental practices across the state. For help in locating a dentist in your area, you may contact your local dental society or the North Carolina Dental Society external link. The American Dental Association external link also provides information on finding a dentist.

Help with Paying for Dental Care

Finding dental care can be very difficult for many low income people. N.C. Medicaid and N.C. Health Choice for Children are programs that can help to cover dental expenses for people who qualify. To find out if you or your children qualify for one of these programs, contact your County Department of Social Services. You also may visit the N.C. Division of Medical Assistance web site or contact the DHHS Care-Line at 1-800-662-7030. Staff at this hotline also can help you find a dentist who accepts patients covered by N.C. Medicaid or N.C. Health Choice for Children.

Denver, Colorado Listing Of Dental Clinics For Low Income

PLEASE NOTE: While we are very fortunate to have so many dental clinics and programs in the Denver metro area - the need far outweighs the resources available.  We make every attempt to keep our list as up-to-date as possible, however, be aware that emergency and appointment availability is subject to change. We recommend you contact the programs directly for which you may qualify and we encourage you follow any specified acceptance protocols (i.e., fill out the application, get your name on the waiting list, etc). Because the need for dental services is so great, in many cases you will need to exercise patience and diligence.
